Beginning his career in 1982 as a calligrapher in the East Asian style, Ichiro Kumiji has designed over ten thousand calligraphic logos for companies, shops, restaurants, and public buildings.

His works have also expanded to encompass book covers and TV show credit title sequences, and some of his works have been registered as trademarks.

In 2008, Ichiro worked on in-game calligraphy for “Afro Samurai” published by NAMCO BANDAI Games America. We can see his art on display in the Moffett Field Museum, CA.
